Ingredients

  • Meringues recipe
  • Meringue Powder
  • Rose Icing Colour
  • Lemon Yellow Icing Colour
  • Orange Icing Colour
  • Bright White Candy Melts Candy (170g [6 oz.] needed)
  • White Nonpareils

 

Supplies

  • Medium Biscuit Tin
  • Baking Paper
  • ColorSwirl 3-Colour Coupler Decorating Kit
  • Ruler
  • Easy Layers! Square Cake Tin Set • 23cm (9 in.)
  • Angled Palette Knife
  • Cake Board
  • Craft sticks

 

Step 1

  • Prepare meringue batter following recipe instructions, eliminating Sparkling Wine flavouring.
  • Divide equally into thirds. Using icing colours, tint one portion rose, one portion yellow and remaining portion orange.
  • Line biscuit tin with baking paper.
  • Prepare Color Swirl couplers with bags and tip 2A. Fill each bag separately with a different coloured batter.
  • Pipe six groups of 2.2cm (7/8 in.) dots, three across by four down, making sure dots are slightly touching.
  • Bake meringues for 45 minutes, then turn oven off and leave meringues in oven for an additional 2 hours.
  • Remove and let cool.

Step 2

  • Melt Bright White candy according to package instructions. Pour into square cake tin.
  • Pour nonpareils into another square cake tin.

Step 3

  • Dip bottom of meringue pops into melted candy; tap to remove excess.
  • Using palette knife, spread candy evenly on bottom of pop, filling in any gaps.
  • Immediately dip candy-coated meringue into nonpareils.
  • Sprinkle nonpareils into gaps on bottom and top of meringue pop.
  • Set aside on baking paper-covered board. Repeat for all pops.
  • Let set, about 10 to 15 minutes.

Step 4

  • Dip 5cm of craft stick into melted Bright White candy.
  • Lay stick on baking paper; position meringue pop on top of stick.
  • Repeat for all pops.
  • Chill until set, about 5 to 10 minutes.
